virtually ethical

In the world of games, just because it isn’t real does not mean it isn’t real. Is the theft of virtual armour in an online game a real crime? What rights does an avatar have?

A panel discussion is being held this Sunday at 2pm at ACMI in the ScreenPit, which will use fascinating real case studies to explore the legal and ethical issues that arise from virtual actions and examine how the law can keep up with developments in game technology.

Speakers will include Andrew Stapleton, Dr Mark Finn, cyber law expert Melissa deZwart (Monash University) and Head of ABC Innovation Abigail Thomas.

admission Free!
